Local Classes
A complete series of Bradley Method® classes consists of one 2-hour class each week for 12 weeks. These classes cover childbirth education, coach training, pregnancy nutrition, pregnancy exercises, relaxation training, labor rehearsals from class 5, breastfeeding, postpartum preparation, and much more. Videos are shown in 8 of my 12 classes and all of my students have access to my lending library of books and videos.
The book Natural Childbirth the Bradley® Way by Susan McCutcheon is required for my classes. It is available through Books A Million in Lake Charles (337) 436-3577, or it may be purchased new or used at www.amazon.com.
I encourage my students to have an assistant coach or doula to support the coach during labor and delivery. The couple should feel comfortable and work well with the person they choose. Assistant coaches are expected to attend most if not all of The Bradley Method® classes with the couple at no additional charge. Learn about the instructor.
Classes for the Jennings/Lake Charles area are held in Iowa, Louisiana. Classes for the Lafayette area are held at Gentle Choices Birth Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Iowa/Lake Charles Location: I charge $300 for a complete series of Bradley Method® classes. The first $25 (supply fee) must be received by class 1. The remaining balance of $275 may be paid in full by the first class, or may be paid on a payment schedule if preferred. Trained couples are encouraged to attend the subsequent series (if available) until their baby is born with no additional charge. Any past students of mine who would like to take a series of classes as a refresher course with a new pregnancy can do so for a discounted price of $150. Past students pay the same $25 supply fee due by class 1 and balance payment options as stated above. A $20 discount on the remaining balance will be given to a couple for referring another couple when they all take the same scheduled series of classes.

A doula is a labor coach that provides continuous labor support. This person has traditionally been a woman who has had her own birth experience(s). Currently, many doulas are trained and certified as well. Use of a doula reduces anxiety & tension, length of labor, need for pain meds, use of vacuume & forceps, rates of C-section, and postpartum depression. It also improves maternal-infant outcomes, affection with newborn, a woman's feelings about her birth, herself as a woman & her body's performance & strength.
I offer Doula services to my Bradley Method® students for an additional $200.
For anyone who is interested in my doula services, but is not a Bradley Method® student of mine, the fee is $300 dollars.
This service includes the following:
- An initial interview/consultation (free)
- At least 2 prenatal preparation meetings with husband/partner if possible.
- Availability throughout your pregnancy for support and referrals
- Assistance writing a birth plan
- Information on medical interventions
- Access to my lending library of books and videos
- Continuous labor support starting at home or hospital
- One postpartum meeting (feedback)

Yoga is a perfect exercise choice to gently prepare your body, mind, and spirit for one of life's most incredible and challenging events.
